"What is I AM Yoga Nidra™ Meditation?
Yoga Nidra is an ancient sleep-based meditation technique that has the power to take you to the innermost, deepest levels of relaxation where your whole body and being is permeated by peace of mind and profound stillness. It unlocks the mystical, integrative powers of the subconscious, as well as your higher centers of consciousness, to effortlessly erase your most tenacious, self-destructive habits and behavior patterns. It is said by yogis that 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is as restorative as three hours of sleep."

WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?
Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based meditation technique that allows us to effortlessly disengage from the THINKING mind by entering the space between waking and sleeping. Our healing abilities are released by removing the mind, as in sleep. Yoga Nidra assists in self-realization by allowing you to experience the SELF BEYOND THE MIND.
HOW YOGA NIDRA GUIDED MEDITATION WORKS
As your Yoga Nidra facilitator, I will guide you through a series of body, breath and awareness techniques designed to disconnect you from your thinking mind and reconnect you with your feeling body which enables you to enter the "being" state. From that state, which we call the bliss body, we can influence shifts.
BENEFITS of Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation
Yoga Nidra allows the body to deeply restore itself, balancing excess stress. We combine the benefits of Meditation, Relaxation, and Intention. This process effortlessly takes you to a deep relaxation where you can change your relationship to pain, stressful situations, and habits.
YOGA NIDRA CAN BE DONE BY ANYONE!
You literally cannot do it wrong. The hardest thing you have to do is not fall asleep, but even if you do, you will still receive many benefits from this guided meditation called Yoga Nidra.
If you can breath and lie down, you can do Yoga Nidra!
YOU CAN SET AN INTENTION FOR THIS GUIDED MEDITATION/YOGA NIDRA
I will help you formulate a powerful intention that we will use during your Nidra session that addresses exactly what YOU are wanting to create in your life.
CREATING AN INTENTION FOR GUIDED MEDITATION
Unique to Yoga Nidra vs Meditation is that we can use intention which allows us to specifically target issues and shift from the subtlest states.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GOAL AND AN INTENTION
When we set a goal, we often feel bad when we don't reach it. An intention is a direction. It has no specific end point. It is reality friendly. Even if we get off track, we still know where we are ultimately going. Even when we "fail", we still keep moving in the direction of our intention.
Examine where you are now and determine where you want to be. Intentions can be based on any areas of health, stress, worry, or tension for example. What do you want to feel for yourself whether a situation changes or not? How would you like to be? How would it make you feel if you had what you wanted?
WHY YOGA NIDRA MAKES INTENTION MORE EFFECTIVE
Usually we work with intentions through the mind, but our subtler beliefs outdo them. Yoga Nidra works from beyond rather than through the mind. It works at the core root patterns where they are held and changes them there. In this place, there are not conflicting voices and the intention is received at every level of your being!

The best way to understand Yoga Nidra is to experience it! So go ahead... grab a blanket and pillow, maybe something to cover your eyes and lie down in a comfortable and quiet place as I lead you through a Nidra Meditation.
Yoga Nidra is new to the West in many ways but an ancient technique used by yogis. It is thousands of years old and yoga nidra means "yogic sleep". The Amrit Method® of Yoga Nidra a unique marriage of science and spirit, combining alert awareness and deepest relaxation. Yoga Nidra takes your brain to the alpha state and eventually the even deeper theta wave state. Here, without effort or strain, you are able to tap into your own source of intuition, creativity, health and abundance. Yoga Nidra is practiced in a comfortable lying down position. The Biological Basis of Yoga Nidra Stress is the biggest problem of modern life. We carry tensions both within the physical body and on even deeper levels in the subtle bodies which we are not even aware of. While physical tension can be eased by stretching, exercise or massage, subtle tensions are difficult to recognize and even harder to release. Amrit Method Yoga Nidra is a unique method that goes below surface tensions to release and transform stress at its deepest level. Normal waking brain activity produces the faster, fragmented beta waves. The waking state also engages the sympathetic nervous system which reacts to stimulus and the secretion of adrenaline. Chronic engagement of this state forcing the right brain and parasympathetic nervous system to progressively become more dormant. Yoga Nidra allows you to drop into a sleep-like state with relaxed brainwave activity. Slow alpha waves, and even slower theta waves, produce deep relaxation and are the entry points to the subconscious. In this state, you can make a conscious crossover from the logical left brain to the intuitive right brain, connected to the field of conscious pranic intelligence, where intention is carried out spontaneously and effortlessly. One purpose of yoga and Yoga Nidra is to initiate the integrative process that balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and the left and right brain. Establishing awareness in the Third Eye sets off the powerful, integrative forces of homeostasis; the natural balance of polarity. With the removal of all surface and subtle tensions and entry into deeply integrated space, you simultaneously enter the state of communion with the divine, luminous, radiant, omnipresent presence. In this video Kamini Desai discusses the power of this ancient yogic technique in helping one achieve intentions. The waking state is not enough- we must utilize different brain waves and plant the seed in a deeper part of ourselves. Yoga Nidra gives that opportunity for deep transformation. The restorative power of Yoga Nidra in just one 30 min session is equivalent to 3 hours of sleep. The difference between Yoga Nidra and Hypnosis.
